What is the difference between axial flow fan and centrifugal fan?

Dec 16, 2021

What is the difference between axial flow fan and centrifugal fan? Their differences are described in detail below.

1. Different exhaust directions: the exhaust direction of the axial flow fan is straight along the axis, the air inlet and exhaust outlet of the fan are on a parallel axis, and the exhaust direction of the centrifugal fan is perpendicular to the air inlet direction, which can realize 360 degree exhaust in the specified direction.

2. Different installation methods: the installation of axial flow fan is relatively simple, which is generally directly installed on the wall or connected to the air duct. The installation of centrifugal fan is complex.

3. Difference between air volume and air pressure: the air volume and air pressure of axial flow fan are relatively small, and there is basically no air pressure, while the air volume and air pressure of centrifugal fan are relatively large. If there are many pipe bends, the extraction distance and air supply distance are relatively long, and the pipe resistance is large, centrifugal fan must be used.

4. Different appearance shapes: the appearance of axial flow fan is basically cylindrical, and the appearance of centrifugal fan is snail.

5. The motor connection modes of the fan are different: the motor connection of the axial flow fan is generally in the fan body, and the motor of the centrifugal fan is connected by the shaft, which is generally placed outside the fan exhaust duct.
